The short answer
A link in bio for booking is a page behind your profile link whose first button takes a client to your calendar. The simplest version is free: paste your Calendly, Acuity or Square booking address straight into the bio and you are done.
It stops being enough when no-shows cost you money or when the same link also has to sell gift cards, aftercare guides or a paid consult. ExclusiveLink keeps your existing scheduler and puts a paid link in front of it, so the calendar only opens for people who paid the deposit. You keep the buyer's email, see taps by platform, and on Pro run the page on your own domain.
01 · Deposit first, calendar second
What a client sees between tapping Book now and picking a slot
Three screens, about twenty seconds. The scheduler you already use stays exactly as it is. The only new step is the one that makes the booking cost something to skip.
1 · Your bio page
- Book a color appointment $25
- Price list and timings
- Aftercare guide Email
- Gift card $50
2 · The deposit
Book a color appointment
$25
Deposit, comes off your total on the day
3 · Your scheduler opens
Calendly, Acuity, Square, Booksy, Vagaro or any booking page with a web address.
Example page. The salon, services and prices are illustrative. The paid link opens whatever address you paste behind it, so it works with the booking tool you have today.
02 · What an empty chair costs
A free booking link fills your calendar, a paid one fills your chair
Bookings that arrive from social media are the easiest ones to abandon. Someone watched a Reel at 11 pm, tapped the link, grabbed Saturday at 2, and forgot about it by Monday. Nothing was at stake, so nothing held them to it.
A deposit changes who books. People who pay $25 to hold a slot show up, or they cancel in time for you to fill it. People who would not pay $25 were never going to sit in the chair.
Run your own numbers with the table. Count last month's no-shows, multiply by your average ticket, and compare the result with what a deposit page costs.
Worked example, one stylist, one month
| Appointments booked from the bio link | 40 |
| No-shows without a deposit | 5 |
| Average ticket | $85 |
| Lost to empty slots | $425 a month |
| Over a year | $5,100 |
| Deposits collected up front at $25 | $1,000 |
Hypothetical figures for illustration. The deposit is not extra income, it is part of the ticket paid early. The gain is the slots that stop going empty.
$25 deposit on Creator
about $23.50
Kept after the 2% platform fee and card processing.
$25 deposit on Pro
about $24
Kept after card processing only. Pro takes 0%.
$150 paid consult on Pro
about $145
For consultants and coaches who charge for the call itself.
Card processing assumed at 2.9% + $0.30, which every tool that takes cards passes on. Plan prices are on the pricing page, and the checkout itself is covered on link in bio payments.
What goes on the page
Four booking pages for four kinds of appointment
The top button is always the booking. What sits under it depends on what a client needs to know before they commit.
Hair, lashes, nails and brows
Book now with a deposit, then the price list with timings, a new client form, and a gift card as a second paid link. Put the aftercare guide behind an email so every first-time client lands on your list.
Tattoo and piercing
A paid consult or a deposit that opens your request form, the flash sheet that is available this month, and booking status in plain words. On Pro, schedule the "Books open Friday 9 am" button to appear and expire on its own.
Photographers and studios
A session retainer as the paid link, the pricing guide behind an email, and one gallery per type of shoot. Mini-session days sell out faster with a button that expires when the date passes. More on the link in bio for photographers page.
Consultants, coaches and trainers
Charge for the strategy call itself and let the calendar open only after payment, with a lead magnet underneath for people who are not ready. The full ladder is on link in bio for coaches and link in bio for personal trainers.

How to put a booking link in your bio with the deposit in front
-
1
Copy your booking address
Open your scheduler and copy the public booking page link. If you offer several services, copy the link for the one you want to fill first.
-
2
Make it a paid link
Add the link to your page, set the deposit, and name the outcome on the button. "Book a color appointment" beats "Booking".
-
3
Paste one address everywhere
Instagram: Edit profile, Links. TikTok: Edit profile, Website. Add it to Google Business Profile and your Facebook Page too.
-
4
Read where bookings start
Each button counts its taps and sales. On Pro the report splits Instagram from TikTok, so you know which kind of post fills the week.
Say what the deposit is on the button or in the line under it: the amount, that it comes off the total, and your cancellation window. Your refund policy is yours to set and to honor. Platform steps are on the link in bio for Instagram and link in bio for TikTok pages, and source tagging is explained on link in bio tracking.
Five ways to take bookings from a bio
Scheduler link alone, the Instagram Book now button, Acuity, Linktree or a deposit page
Each of these is the right answer for somebody. The last column says who.
| Setup | Cost | Deposit before booking | Sells other things | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Calendly link in the bio | Free plan, paid plans per seat | Payments start on the Standard plan, not on Free | No | Free calls and consults where a no-show costs little |
| Instagram Book now button | $0, needs an account with a booking partner | Whatever the partner supports | No, and Instagram only | Local businesses whose clients all come from Instagram |
| Acuity Scheduling | $20, $34 or $61 a month, no free plan | Yes, payments and deposits on every plan | Packages and gift certificates | Anyone whose only need is a calendar that takes a deposit |
| Linktree | $0, $8, $15 or $35 a month | No paid lock listed for an outside calendar | Digital products, 9% to 12% fee below the $35 plan | A plain list of booking, menu and socials |
| ExclusiveLink | Creator $49, Pro $99 a month, half on yearly billing | Yes, a paid link in front of any calendar | Gift cards, guides, replays, email-locked links | Providers who sell more than the appointment and want clicks by platform |
We are not a scheduler. We do not hold your calendar, sync with Google Calendar or send reminders, and a client who has paid could pass the calendar address to a friend. If a deposit on appointments is the only thing you are missing, Acuity does that natively for less than our Creator plan and is the better buy. A page like ours earns its price when the bio link also has to sell, collect emails and report which platform the paying clients came from. The wider shortlist is in the best link in bio app comparison, and link in bio for business covers shops and studios with staff.
Beyond the appointment
The rest of the page earns between bookings
Most people who tap your link are not booking today. Give them something smaller to do.
A list of future clients
Lock the price guide or the aftercare sheet behind an email address. When a Tuesday opens up, you have people to tell. See link in bio with email capture.
Gift cards and small products
A $50 gift card, a styling guide or a preset pack sells from the same page with the same checkout, to followers who live nowhere near your chair.
Your name in the address
On Pro the page runs at book.yourstudio.com. If you change schedulers next year, the address on your cards, your window and your profiles stays the same. Details on custom domain link in bio.

Booking link in bio questions
What does booking link in bio mean?
It means the link on the person's social profile leads to where you can book them. Captions cannot hold clickable links on Instagram or TikTok, so a stylist, artist or coach writes "booking link in bio" and puts the address to their calendar, or to a page with a Book now button, in the profile's link field.
How do I add a booking link to my Instagram bio?
Open your profile, tap Edit profile, then Links, then Add external link, and paste your booking address with a title such as Book now. Business accounts can also add a Book now action button through a booking partner, though Instagram shows only one action button on a profile at a time.
How to put booking link in TikTok bio?
In TikTok tap Edit profile and paste the address into the Website field. TikTok shows that field to business accounts and to accounts with 1,000 followers. Below that, the address can only sit in the bio text where it cannot be tapped, so many providers point TikTok viewers to their Instagram profile.
Can I take a deposit through my link in bio?
Yes. Either use a scheduler that takes deposits itself, or put a paid link in front of your calendar so it opens only after the client pays. The second route works with any booking tool that has a web address, including free ones that do not process payments.
Can Calendly collect payment when someone books?
Yes, on paid plans. Calendly's pricing page lists Stripe and PayPal connections from the Standard plan up, and the Free plan does not include payments. If you want to stay on a free scheduler and still charge before the slot is chosen, a paid link in front of the Calendly address does it.
How much should a booking deposit be?
A common range is a flat $20 to $50 or 20% to 50% of the service, enough that skipping the appointment costs the client something. Long or custom work such as tattoos, color corrections and photo sessions usually sits at the higher end. State the amount and your cancellation window before checkout.
What is the best link in bio for booking appointments?
If booking is all you need, your scheduler's own link is the best one and it is free. If you want a deposit and nothing else, a scheduler with built-in deposits such as Acuity fits. If the link must also sell gift cards and guides, collect emails and report clicks by platform, use a selling bio page with a paid link in front of the calendar.
For providers whose clients find them on social
Take the deposit before the slot, from the link you already have in your bio.
Book now up top with a paid link in front of your calendar, gift cards and guides underneath, and a report of which platform sent the clients who paid.
