How it works
What is a link in bio, exactly?
A link in bio is the single clickable URL in your social profile that routes followers to everything you offer: your store, your latest release, your mailing list. Platforms allow one link, so that link has to carry the whole business.
01The idea
One link, doing the work of a storefront
Instagram, TikTok and most platforms give you exactly one clickable line. What you put behind it decides whether followers browse or buy.
In practice, a link in bio points to a small landing page that lists everything you want your audience to reach: the new single, the preset pack, the booking calendar, the newsletter. Instead of changing your profile link every time you post, you change the page behind it.
A basic version is a list of URLs. A serious one is a storefront: links can be locked behind an email address or a price, drops can be scheduled to appear and expire, and every tap is recorded, so the page earns and reports instead of just redirecting. That difference is the whole argument of the link in bio tool tour.
On ExclusiveLink your page lives at exclusive.link/yourname, or on your own domain, with no platform branding anywhere on it. Plans and what each includes are laid out on the link in bio pricing page.
Where the one link lives
- Instagramprofile website field
- TikTokbio link, 1,000+ followers
- YouTubechannel header and descriptions
- Xprofile website field
- Twitchabout panel
Same URL everywhere: one page to update, one set of numbers to read.
02The walkthrough
From no page to a paying page in three steps
Most creators finish all three in under ten minutes. Nothing here needs a developer.
-
1
Claim your handle
Pick exclusive.link/yourname, or connect your own domain on Pro. Choose a theme, set your name and portrait, and the page is live.
-
2
Add and gate your links
Add everything you make. Keep discovery links open, lock the valuable ones behind an email or a price, and schedule drops to appear and expire on time.
-
3
Share it and read the analytics
Paste the same URL into every bio and description. Per-link clicks, sources, devices and revenue tell you what to drop next and where to post it.
You can rehearse the whole flow right now: the link in bio maker builds a live preview of your page, gates and all, before you commit to anything.
03The vocabulary
Five terms that do the heavy lifting
The niche has its own shorthand. These are the five terms worth knowing before you read any analytics screen.
- Link in bio
- The one clickable URL a social platform allows in your profile, usually pointed at a landing page that holds everything else.
- Gated link
- A link that opens only after the visitor gives something: an email address or a payment. The gate turns traffic into a list or into revenue.
- Click-through rate
- The share of page visitors who tap a given link. If 1,000 people visit and 80 tap your presale, that link's click-through rate is 8%.
- Custom domain
- Your own address, like links.yourname.com, serving your bio page instead of a platform URL. It keeps the brand, and the audience, yours.
- UTM
- Small tags added to a URL that name the source and campaign a click came from, so you can tell a story click from an ad click in your reports.
