Tap Bio Alternatives Before the October 31 Shutdown
· by ExclusiveLink
Tap Bio is shutting down. The notice on its own profile page reads "We're winding down Tap Bio. Your service continues until Oct 31, 2026." After that date your tap.bio page stops working, so the link in your Instagram bio needs a new home before then. If you only used Tap Bio as a free list of links, Linktree or Beacons on their free plans will do. If your bio sells something, collects emails or needs to outlive the next shutdown, move it to a page on your own domain.
Tap Bio is pointing users to its sister product, Link in Profile, with a 50% discount (codes TB50M and TB50Y on the notice). That is a fair offer if your posts are the content. It is a different kind of tool, though, and it is worth seeing what else is on the table before you take it.

What your fans see
Is Tap Bio shutting down?
Yes. Tap Bio confirms it on tap.bio/@tap.bio, where an "Important Announcement" card says the company is winding the product down and that service continues until October 31, 2026. It gives no reason. Coverage of the announcement from June 2026 reports that new signups were closed right away, that existing users can still log in and edit until the end date, and that pages are deleted after it.
Two details make the timing tighter than it looks. Those same reports say Tap Bio offers no one-file export of a page, so you copy your links, titles and images by hand. And Tap Bio has not said whether old tap.bio addresses will redirect anywhere after October 31. Plan as if every printed QR code, email footer and pinned post that points at tap.bio turns into a dead link.

Tap Bio alternatives compared
The tools a Tap Bio user is most likely to shortlist, with list prices from each vendor's own pricing page, monthly billing. "Seller fee" is what the platform keeps from a sale made through the page, before card processing, which every tool passes on (Stripe charges 2.9% plus 30 cents whichever one you pick).
| Option | Price per month | Seller fee | Own domain | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Link in Profile | $9.99, 50% off with the Tap Bio codes, 30-day trial | Does not sell for you | Not listed | Instagram accounts whose posts are the product, such as recipes or shop items |
| Linktree | Free, $8, $15, $35 | Charged on lower plans | Not offered at any price | A plain, familiar list of links |
| Beacons | Free, $10, $30, $100 | 9% below Creator Plus | From the $10 plan | Creators who want a store and media kit in one |
| Stan Store | $29, $99, 14-day trial | 0% | Not offered | Coaches selling courses and calls from a phone |
| Komi | Free, $20 | 0% on digital products | On Pro, through support | A visual creator page with a free plan |
| ExclusiveLink | $49, $99, $149 (half on yearly) | 2% on Creator, 0% on Pro | From Pro, self-serve | Creators who sell access, collect emails and want to own the address |
The last row is ours, so read it as a vendor's row. If you need a free page, three tools above are cheaper than we are, and we have no free plan.
What is the best alternative to Tap Bio?
It depends on what your Tap Bio page did. Tap Bio was built around swipeable cards, so people used it in three quite different ways, and each one has a different best replacement:
- A card per post. If your page mirrored your feed so followers could tap a photo and reach the recipe, product or article, Link in Profile is the like-for-like move. You add a URL to a caption and the post shows up as a clickable tile. With the 50% code it is the cheapest paid option in the table.
- A short list of links. If the page was your website, latest video and a contact button, Linktree Free or Beacons Free covers it at no cost. You give up a custom look and, on Linktree, any chance of your own address.
- A page that earns. If the bio sells a guide, books paid sessions, takes tips or grows an email list, choose on fees and ownership. Stan Store and Komi take 0% on sales, Beacons takes 9% below its $30 plan, and only some tools put the page on your own domain.
The third group is the one that loses real money on November 1. A dead bio link does not just look bad, it drops every sale and signup that would have come through it until you notice. Our link in bio for Instagram page shows how that kind of page is set up, with clicks split by post and platform.
Why your own domain matters after a shutdown
Tap Bio is the third link in bio tool in under two years to close. Bento was shut down in February 2026 after Linktree bought it, and Shopify ended Linkpop in July 2025 (we covered that move in Linkpop alternatives for Shopify stores). Each time, creators had to change the link in every bio, email signature and printed card, because the address belonged to the vendor.
A page on a domain you own, such as links.yourname.com, breaks that cycle. If the tool behind it ever closes or raises prices, you point the domain at a new one and every old link keeps working. A domain costs about $10 to $20 a year at most registrars. If the name you want is already registered and lapsing, you can backorder an expiring domain and pick it up when it drops. Our custom domain link in bio page walks through the DNS side, which takes about ten minutes.
Where ExclusiveLink fits, and where it does not
We are not a card-per-post feed tool, and we do not copy your Instagram grid. If that is what Tap Bio did for you, Link in Profile is the better buy. We are built for the bio that has a job to do.
Paid links
Put a price on any link, a guide, a private video or a template, and it opens after payment. 2% fee on Creator, 0% on Pro.
Email-locked links
Ask for an email before a free download, then export the list to CSV for your newsletter tool.
Clicks by platform
Pro shows which platform and post sent each tap and sale, plus A/B tests on button text.
Your own address
Pro connects a custom domain from the panel, so the next time any tool closes, your link does not.
Plans start at $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, and the pricing page lists every feature per plan. There is no free tier, so if your Tap Bio page earned nothing, a free plan elsewhere is the sensible move.
How to move off Tap Bio before October 31
- Copy everything now. Open each card and save its title, link, image and any text. Screenshots on a phone are fine as a backup. Do it this week, not on October 30.
- Find every place tap.bio appears. Instagram, TikTok and YouTube bios, pinned comments, story highlights, email signatures, media kits, business cards and QR codes on packaging or flyers.
- Decide on the address first. A custom domain you control means this is the last time you reprint anything.
- Rebuild, then trim. Most pages carry cards for launches that ended years ago. Keep the five to eight links people actually tap.
- Tag the links. Add UTM tags per platform so your site analytics shows which network drives sales from day one.
- Swap the bio links the same day and test each one on a phone, signed out, before you post about the change.
If you are rebuilding on a new tool and want the full list of what to check, our guide to switching to your own domain covers redirects and timing step by step.
Tap Bio alternative questions
When does Tap Bio shut down?
Tap Bio's service continues until October 31, 2026, according to the announcement on its own profile page. After that date, published coverage of the notice says accounts can no longer be accessed and pages are deleted, so links to tap.bio pages stop working.
Can I export my Tap Bio page?
Not as a single file, based on reports published after the announcement. You copy your cards by hand: title, link, image and description for each. It takes most people 20 to 40 minutes, and it is a good moment to drop cards nobody taps.
What is Link in Profile?
Link in Profile is a sister product from the same company. It turns your Instagram posts into a feed of clickable tiles: you put a URL in a caption and that post links to it. Its pricing page lists a Personal plan at $9.99 a month with a 30-day trial, and the Tap Bio notice offers 50% off.
Is there a free Tap Bio alternative?
Yes. Linktree, Beacons and Komi all have free plans. They carry the vendor's branding, sit on the vendor's address and, on Linktree and Beacons, take a fee on sales. If your page earns money, compare the fee against a paid plan; on Beacons the fee only drops to 0% at $30 a month.
Tap Bio status checked against tap.bio/@tap.bio on October 15, 2026, and Link in Profile pricing against linkinprofile.com/about/pricing the same day. Signup, export and deletion details are as reported in coverage of the announcement. Competitor prices are from each vendor's own page; confirm on the live page before purchasing.
