Stan Store Custom Domain: Own Domain Alternatives Compared

Stan Store does not support a custom domain on any plan. Its help center says so directly: "As of now, you cannot create or embed a custom domain into your Stan Store. Your Stan Store URL will be stan.store/yourusername." The only option Stan offers is domain forwarding, where your domain redirects visitors to your stan.store address. If you want the store itself to live on your own domain, you need a different tool: Beacons (paid plans from $10 a month), Pillar (Entrepreneur plan, $129 a month) or ExclusiveLink (Pro, $49 a month).

Can I use my own domain with Stan Store?

Only as a redirect. Stan's help article on custom domains says you can "set up a forwarding rule within your domain hosting site", which "will allow you to use your custom domain anywhere you like and automatically redirect visitors to your Stan Store." Stan's list of common feature requests repeats the point: there is no way to connect a custom domain to Stan yet. What domain forwarding fixes, and what it does not

It fixes the printed link. You can put yourname.com in your Instagram bio, on a business card or on packaging, and a tap lands on your store. For many coaches and course creators that is the whole goal, and forwarding does it for the price of the domain.

It does not change the address people see. The moment the redirect fires, the browser shows stan.store/yourusername. The checkout, the product pages and the confirmation screen all sit on Stan's domain. A buyer who copies the link to send to a friend copies Stan's URL, not yours.

It does not build anything on your domain. Search engines index the page they land on, so any search visibility the store earns belongs to stan.store. If you later leave Stan, links people shared and saved point to a store that is gone, and your own domain has no history to show for the years you used it.

It adds a step that can break. Forwarding runs on your registrar's servers, not Stan's. Some registrar forwarding setups do not serve HTTPS on the bare domain, which makes phones show a security warning before the redirect. Test it on a phone over cellular, with and without "www", after you set it up. A redirect that quietly fails sends every tap from your bio to an error page, so an uptime monitor watching the domain is cheap insurance if your income depends on that link.

It is a problem for affiliate links. If you share Amazon affiliate links from your store, note that Amazon's operating policy disqualifies purchases routed through automatic redirects without an affirmative click, and forbids obscuring the site a click came from. A clicked link on a page is fine. A domain that auto-redirects is the pattern the policy describes, so keep affiliate links on the store page itself and list the real page URL in your Associates account.

Stan Store alternatives with a custom domain

Stay on Stan if your business runs on booked calls and courses, you are happy with its checkout, and the domain only needs to look right in your bio. How to move from Stan to your own domain

Start by building the new page with the maker near the top of this article, then add your products as paid links and a free sample behind an email. On Pro, add one CNAME record at your registrar (links.yourname.com or shop.yourname.com works well if the root domain already hosts a website). Remove the old forwarding rule from the domain, update the link in every profile, and keep your Stan account open for a billing cycle so buyers with saved links still reach their purchases. Does Stan Store Creator Pro include a custom domain?

No. Neither Stan plan includes a custom domain. Creator Pro at $99 a month adds more marketing tools, but the store address stays stan.store/yourusername. Forwarding your own domain to that address is the only option Stan documents.

How do I forward my domain to Stan Store?

In your registrar's dashboard (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Squarespace and Wix all offer it), open the domain's forwarding settings and point it at https://stan.store/yourusername as a permanent redirect. Allow up to an hour, then test on a phone with and without "www" to confirm HTTPS works.

Can I change my Stan Store URL?

You can change the username part of stan.store/yourusername at any time under Settings, then Profile. Stan's help center is explicit that you cannot change the domain itself.
